Terms of Service

Last updated: July 20, 2026 · Applies to the NayYay app and web app during the private beta.

The short version: NayYay is in beta — it will change, and occasionally break. Your opinions are yours. Be honest, rate offerings not people, and don't use the service to harm anyone. We can part ways at any time, and so can you.

1. What NayYay is

NayYay lets you record Yay/Meh/Nay verdicts on products, places, dishes, books — almost anything — and share them with friends you explicitly choose. It is operated from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

2. Beta status

NayYay is a private beta. Features may change or disappear, downtime happens, and despite our best efforts data could be lost. Please don't make NayYay the only home of anything you can't afford to lose. Access during the beta is by invitation and may be limited in numbers.

3. Your account

4. Your content

5. House rules

6. Reporting a problem

If you see content that breaks these rules, or something that looks like a security problem, email support@nayyay.com. Security reports are especially welcome.

7. Catalog data and attribution

Product, place, and book data in NayYay includes material from Open Food Facts and OpenStreetMap (Open Database License) and Open Library. That data remains under its own licenses.

8. Ending things

9. The legal paragraph

NayYay is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.

10. Changes

If these terms change materially, we'll say so in the app and update the date at the top. Continuing to use NayYay after a change means you accept it.
